Timothy L. Quigg is the associate chair for administration and finance in the department of computer science at UNC Chapel Hill. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and a Master’s of Public Administration from North Carolina State University. He has had a rich career in higher education administration, the private sector and state government in North Carolina. He was the co-founder of two computer software companies, director of a large federal research project, and was appointed by the governor as the chief financial officer of a large statewide program. In addition to serving as the chief financial and administrative officer of the department of computer science, his primary areas of interest are industrial relations and intellectual property rights. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Society of Research Administrators (SRA). He currently chairs the Departmental Interest Group within SRA. Among his many honors and awards is the "Order of the Long Leaf Pine," a high civilian honor bestowed by the governor of North Carolina. He also received the 1999 UNC Chancellor's Award for Excellence.
